SMS Messaging Terms

Last updated: June 26, 2026.

Warranty Window operates a text-messaging program on behalf of franchised vehicle dealerships. Through this program, a dealership sends warranty and service reminders to its own customers about the vehicle they purchased or serviced at that dealership. These terms describe how the program works, how consent is obtained, and how to stop messages at any time.

Program description

Messages are warranty- and service-related notifications— for example, a reminder that a vehicle's factory warranty coverage is approaching its end, with an option to review coverage with the dealership. Every message identifies the sending dealership by name. This is a low-frequency, relationship-based program; a customer typically receives one to three messages relating to a given warranty milestone.

How consent is collected

Customers are enrolled by the dealership, not by Warranty Window. At the time of vehicle purchase or service, the customer provides their mobile number to the dealership and consents — on the dealership's purchase or service paperwork — to be contacted about their vehicle, including by text message. This consent sits within the existing business relationshipbetween the dealership and its customer, consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Warranty Window does not purchase phone numbers and does not message anyone outside this established dealership relationship.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and is tied to the customer's vehicle warranty timeline rather than a fixed schedule. The program is deliberately low-volume — it exists to deliver timely, relevant notices, not recurring marketing blasts.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on the customer's mobile plan and carrier. Warranty Window and the dealership do not charge for the messages themselves.

Opt-out and help

Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. On receipt of STOP, all further messages from that dealership are suppressed immediately and a single confirmation of the opt-out is sent. Replying HELP returns contact information for assistance. Customers may also contact their dealership directly to be removed.

Carrier disclaimer

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to the customer's carrier and network availability.

Your privacy

Mobile opt-in information and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers and messaging consent are used solely to deliver the dealership's warranty and service notifications. For full detail on how personal information is handled, see our Privacy Policy. For how Warranty Window supports dealership compliance with Canadian anti-spam law, see our CASL page.
